What To Say When You Get To The Emergency Department
When you get to the hospital, you must clearly identify the nature and severity of your problem.
FOR A SEVERE ASTHMA REPORT :
- Any recent steroid therapy
- The frequency of use of short-acting beta-agonist bronchodilators either by MDIs or nebulized treatments
- Peak flow meter measurements
- Any recent admission to the hospital or treatment in the emergency department
- Prior intensive care treatment of an allergic reaction or asthma
- If you have an asthma action plan, be sure to bring it to the emergency department with you
