Main Ingredients

3 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Dairy-Free 100% Cocoa Powder
2 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Salt
2/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 Tbsp. Distilled White Vinegar
2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
0 Smidgen Vegetable Shortening


Main Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.
  2. Using the vegetable shortening, grease and lightly flour two 9 inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla.
  5. Beat with a spoon or wire whisk until well blended and batter is smooth.
  6. Pour batter into prepared cake pans.
  7. Bake for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  8. Let cakes cool in pans 10 minutes before transferring to wire cooling rack.
  9. When cakes are completely cooled, frost.
